Our child and pre-adolescent treatment programs are designed to provide a safe, nurturing, and therapeutic environment for our patient’s unique needs. The program is designed for the treatment of children and adolescents ages 4-17 years old (on rare occasions children as young as 3 years old) with emotional and/or behavioral problems including mood disorders, anxiety disorders, psychotic disorders, impulse control disorders, substance use disorders and attention deficit hyperactivity disorders.
The program provides a multi-disciplinary approach under the direction of an attending psychiatrist and provides:
Our approaches are based on a child’s natural method of communication and expression is play. In group, children can ‘play out or role play’ their experiences and feelings in a safe environment and use therapeutic toys and games to say what they can’t say with words.
Through our patient-centered approach, we provide a way for children to work through defenses and handle anxiety, and help children release feelings in a safe environment. Our goal is to enhance every child and pre-adolescent’s ability to be responsible for self, to be creative in problem solving, and to make responsible choices.
